Dinámica de crescimento em diámetro de uma floresta primaria sem interferencia; uma analise pelo tempo de passagem entre classes diamétricas

The objective of this work was to analyze the diameter growth dynamic of native forest population without interferences, through the estimation of the passing time among diametric classes. The metodology was based on the analysis of the functional relation between the annual average periodical increment in diameter and the center of the respective diameter class. Based on the regression equation the annual average periodical increment was estimated and the estimation of the relative ages which were used for the calculation of povoamentos florestais nativos nao-manejados. The passing time among diametric classes was obtained. The data of diametric increments were obtained from the experiment of sustained management in atlantic forest installed in 1980 and sucessively measured in 1980, 1983, 1986 and 1989, in the forest reserve of the vale do Rio Doce Company S.A., Espirito Santo State. It was verified that the classes with inferior diameters grow slower than the ones with superior diameters, and therefore, the passing time decreased from 39 years, in the 15 cm diameter class, to a minimal value of 14 years, in the 175 cm diameter class. In general, the results confirmed the slowness of the dynamic growth in diameter of native forest unmanaqed.
