Intermediate science and catalyst in agro-forestry?

Agro-forestry in meant to be a concept for the solution of the trendous land use problems in the tropics which are aggravating day by day. In many parts of the tropics agro-forestry schemes or at least starting points in this direction have developed spontaneously. A case study from Costa Rica illustrates the problems that these autochthonous techniques have for their extension, optimisation under given conditions and adaption to changes of their environment
