A serologic test was used to detect Brucellosis in flocks of the following 6 districts of the Province of Corrientes: Mercedes, Curuzu Cuatia, Monte Caseros, Paso de los Libres, San Roque y Sauce. These districts carry 75 percent the sheep population of this Province. On each farm, a blood sample of 2 percent of the stock was taken. A total of 1833 serum samples were analized, 1096 of which came from rams that were clinically healthy, and 737 from females over 2 years of age. The technique used was agar gel inmunodifusion, with an antigen provided by INTA Castelar and by the Panamerican Center of Zoonoses. Of the 1096 rams, 178 (16.24 percent) resulted positive to the serologic test, while 69 (9,36 percent) of the 737 females gave positive reaction
