Vegetative propagation of oil palm via tissue culture

Vegetative propagation of oil palms has been achieved using tissue culture methods, and several hundred plants are now established in a polybag nursery in Malaysia. Characteristics of these clonal plants are described, and compared with those of seedling material. Finally, the possible value of vegetative propagation to the oil palm industry is discussed
