Fruit quality depends on technical skill and cultural practices. First of all, soil preparation, phytosanitary protection and plant nutrition must be carefully carried out. Between floral induction and harvest, crown reduction and treatment with Ethrel aim at improving fruit appearance. Harvesting and conditioning are the most delicate operations because of mature fruit fragility. They imply careful manipulation. Contamination from outside must be avoided. Homogeneity for size and colour in the package is a guarantee for good commercialization. (MIBA)
