Two specialized types of fibers, i.e., cashmere or pashmina and mohair, are produced by highly selected breeds or genotypes. This chapter deals with the biology of fiber growth, cashmere and mohair production, characteristics of the fiber, centers of production, expected levels of production, mohair grades, lock types, and genetic studies and reproductive problems
