Productividad comparada en rotaciones y rehabilitación de suelos volcánicos endurecidos

Rotations of different combinations of wheat, mixed maize and beans, and vetch, both with and without added organic matter, were grown on hardened volcanic soils (fragipan type) in Hueyotlipan, Tlaxcala, Mexico, for five years. Greater dry matter yields were obtained in rotations where organic matter was introduced than without. Family grain and forage supplies and incomes improved, and use of external inputs was reduced.
