Costo y rendimiento de las semillas forestales
What is the real cost of one kilogram of seed? This is a common question among the tree seed producers, necessary to estimate the final price of the seed. In this document we present the results of seed yields of ten forest tree species, collected by the CATIE Tree Seed Bank during the year 1997, and some useful fruit/seed relationships. In average the prices range between US 0.91/kg for Enterolobium cyclocarpum and US 23,17 for Vochysia ferruginea. It is recommended to all tree seed producers collect this kind of data as an aid for a better planning of the seed bank activities and a more precise estimation of the seedprices
