Evaluación de sistemas de cultivo asociados con plátano (Musa spp.)
Five crops were evaluated as intercropping with plantain. This crops were: sweet potato, cassava, squash, pigeon pea and cowpea. The variables evaluated were the yield/crop as monoculture and as intercropping, agronomic characteristics of plantain plants: bunch weigth, lenght and diameter of plantain fruit and flowering and harvest time. Also was evaluated the plantain plants height and stem diameter. In the intercropping were estimated the land equivalent ratio (LER). The results showed to agronomic characteristics of plantain plants were different in the intercrops (p<0.05). The heights plant and plant stem diameter of plantain plants no were different (p<0.05). The higher yield of plantain plant were obtained in plantain + pigeon pea and plantain + cowpea (p<0.05). The flowering and harvest time were longer in the intercropping. The total LER were upper to one. The plantain + squash showed the higher net income.
