Report of the twenty-eighth session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission, Incheon, Republic of Korea, 17-21 June 2019

At the invitation of the Government of Republic of Korea, the 28th session of the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC) was held 17 to 21 June 2019 in Incheon, Republic of Korea, with the main theme “Forests of peach and well-being”. Delegates from 20 member countries and 2 United Nations organizations participated in the session, along with observers and representatives from 21 regional and international inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations in total 200 participants were present. The Commission discussed and assessed technical and policy issues and trends of relevance to forestry in the region, advanced mechanisms for regional and sub-regional cooperation in addressing forestry problems, and advised FAO on policy formulation and on priorities for its forestry programmes in the region. A total of 17 agenda items were considered by the Commission, and the final report was adopted on 21 June 2019.
