Análisis del espacio geográfico y el paisaje de un campus universitario mexicano. Cerro de Coatepec, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México
Este artículo es resultado de un proyecto de investigación que se realiza en todos los espacios de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México. Con la aplicación de fundamentos geográficos, ecológicos y técnicas de trabajo de campo (observación directa, identificación, cuantificación y registros) se hizo la caracterización y el análisis del espacio geográfico, el paisaje y los cambios de uso del suelo del Cerro de Coatepec. La investigación es de tipo descriptivo y cualitativo, y se realizó a nivel de ecosistema urbano. Se demuestra que el Cerro de Coatepec es un espacio geográfico importante para los universitarios ya que desempeña múltiples funciones, pero es urgente aplicar estrategias para mitigar o compensar los impactos ocasionados al paisaje.ABSTRACT This article is the result of a research project carried out in all areas of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. With the application of geographical and ecological concepts and fieldwork techniques (direct observation, identification, quantification and measurements) the characterization and analysis of the components of the geographical space, the landscape and changes in land use was made of Cerro de Coatepec. The research is descriptive and qualitative, and performed at the level of structural and functional identity. The results show that the Cerro de Coatepec is an important urban ecosystem for the students, teachers and researchers because it has multiple roles, but it is urgent to implement strategies to mitigate or compensate the impacts caused to the landscape.
