Finding of Diphyllobothrium sp. in Canis familiaris

The genus Diphyllobothrium was first described in Cobbold (1858). Several species are known, among which are: D. latum, D. cordatum, D. strictum, D. ursi, etc. D. lactumm has a cosmopolitan distribution; D. cordatum is found in the Arctic and D. pacificum in the coastal zone of Peru.
