Prevention of babesiosis and anaplasmosis in cattle: Paper presented at the VI National Veterinary Congress
An important differential between anaplasmosis and babesiosis corresponds to the areas of geographical distribution that, in the case of anaplasmosis in America, exceed that of babesiosis in the north and south. While chemoprophylaxis may present an alternative for special situations, the most rational technique appears to be vaccination of calves that will remain in the risk area, with live immunopathogens.
