Ticks of the genus Ixodes (Acari: Ixodidae) in Uruguay
An update of the genux Ixodes Latraille, 1795 (Acari: Ixodidae) in Uruguay is made. Four species are represented: I. auritulus Neumann, 1904, I. longiscutatum Boero, 1944, I. loricatus Neumann, 1899 and I. pararicinus Keirans & Clifford, 1985, Ixodes uruguayensis Kohls & Clifford, 1967 have been shown to be a synonym of I. longiscutatum. Also, new hosts to the different species of the genus and notes on their distribution and biology are included.
