PERCEPTION OF THE TEACHING STRATEGY THROUGH THE USE OF THE NETWORK SIMULATOR IN THE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES OF THE STUDENTS OF THE TELEINFORMATIC COURSE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PANAMA

This research aims to know the perception of the teaching strategy with the use of a network simulator in the technical skills of the students of the Teleinformatics course in virtual modality of the Computer Engineering career of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Communication. from the University of Panama, 2021. The study was carried out with a quantitative, experimental approach, with a connotation of a pre-experimental design with a single group, prospective, cross-sectional, analytical design; The research level is applicative with a non-probabilistic sample made up of the 26 students enrolled in the Teleinformatics II course to whom the survey-type technique was applied with a questionnaire with closed questions in digital format. The descriptive analysis of the results was carried out by means of the analysis of the frequency distribution with statistics, tables, graphs of the variables subject to study with their measures of central tendency. The final recommendation is to establish the bases to integrate the network simulator in the realization of study cases within the hours of laboratory practice, regardless of the modality taught in the Teleinformatics course of the Computer Engineering career and in extracurricular career workshops. related.

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo conocer la percepción sobre la estrategia de enseñanza con el uso de simulador de red en las competencias técnicas de los alumnos del curso de Teleinformática en modalidad virtual de la carrera de Ingeniería en Informática de la Facultad de Informática, Electrónica y Comunicación de la Universidad de Panamá, 2021.  El estudio se realizó con un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo experimental, con una connotación de un diseño preexperimental con diseño de un solo grupo, prospectivo, de corte transversal, analítico; el nivel de investigación es aplicativo con una muestra no probabilística conformada por los 26 alumnos matriculados del curso de Teleinformática II a los cuales se les aplicó la técnica de tipo encuesta con un cuestionario con preguntas cerradas en formato digital. El análisis descriptivo de los resultados se realizó por medio del análisis de la distribución de frecuencia con estadísticas, tablas, gráfica de las variables sujetas de estudio con sus medidas de tendencia central. La recomendación final es instituir las bases para integrar el simulador de red en la realización de casos de estudio dentro de las horas de práctica de laboratorio indistintamente de la modalidad impartida del curso de Teleinformática de la carrera de Ingeniería en Informática y en talleres extracurriculares de carreras afines.
