Violencia contra las mujeres, crisis de paradigmas sobre los conceptos de la casa y el hogar en tiempos de pandemia y su impacto en la seguridad ciudadana en Panamá - 2020
This essay is the product of an investigation that was carried out within the framework of a project of the Knowledge Network on Citizen Security at the Central American level (CONOSE), between October 2020 and March 2021. It addresses the situation of women in the face of violence that occurs in homes, in the context of the home, which worsened in times of pandemic, due to the measures adopted to stop the contagion, in the scenario of socioeconomic crisis, with loss of jobs, suspension of contracts and strong mobility restrictions. The long period of confinement decreed by the health authorities and the executive body in Panama, forced them to live with their aggressors 24 hours a day, with the seriousness that many, in these circumstances, could lose their lives. The battle against COVID-19, then also became the battle of women to survive in pandemic times, lack, isolation and violence, exposing in the same way the social inequalities of which they are victims, by take care of the tasks of taking care of the family, the home and the house, as well as that staying at home, was not experienced in the same way in all Panamanian homes.
