Prospective with an environmental focus in invisible territories. A guide to its application

Territorial invisibility is a gradual process of disappearance of a territorial entity, from a given temporal-spatial scale and due to particular socioeconomic dynamics. The objective of this paper is to provide elements of territorial foresight considering an environmental approach for territories with invisibility processes and to demonstrate its corresponding application in a particular case. In the methodology, a study was applied at a local-regional scale, describing socio-environmental particularities, establishing inter-institutional leverages, carrying out community participation and modeling prospective scenarios. The results show a process of social invisibility, parallel to the environmental potential in a municipality of Colombia-Latin America: Betétitiva. It is possible to propose a subregional visibility to harmonize with the community in three gradual scenarios projecting an objective for the year 2040. In the end, the communities are the ones who deserve the opportunity to shine with their own collective light, joining efforts for a better future that depends on a commitment where different spheres and territorial interests converge. In this case, working with water is a priority, not only because of its potential for integration, but also because of the urgency of its adequate protection and management.
