Leaf anatomy of Boehmeria caudata (Urticaceae) in the province of Tucumán, Argentina

This paper describes the leaf anatomy of B. caudata Sw., a tree with a high forage and medicinal value is part of the diet of herbivorous. Fresh and fixed in FAA material was used. Conventional histological techniques were used. The leaf is dorsiventral and hypostomatic. Stomata are anomocytic and anisocytic type. Trichomes are simple and glandular. Cystolits and druses are present. Petiole exhibits five collateral vascular bundles. The elements of diagnostic value for identification of this species are: types of stomata, leaf trichomes and venation.
