La especie fue colectada en bosques caducifolios en las localidadesde Jajó y Burbusay, estado Trujillo, Venezuela. Se presenta descripciónmorfológica y distribución geográfica sobre la base de consulta de literaturabotánica especializada, observaciones de campo y estudio de especímenes deherbario.ABSTRACTCalliandra pittieri Standley var. pittieri is first recorded for Venezuela. Thespecies was collected in dry forest in the localities of Jajó and Burbusay, TrujilloState, Venezuela. An extense morphological description, illustration, taxonomiccomments and geographic distribution of the variety are given.
