Frequency of bacterial microorganisms isolated from canine patientswith diarrhea that came to the “Prof. Dr. José Vicente Núñez” Veterinary Hospital at the School of Veterinary Sciences – National University of Asunción in 2018
In the “Prof. Dr. José Vicente Núñez” Veterinary Hospital at the School of Veterinary Sciences ofthe National University of Asuncion, located in the City of San Lorenzo, Central Department, Republic ofParaguay, the research work was carried out in order to determine the frequency of bacterialmicroorganisms isolated from canine patients with diarrhea that came to the Veterinary Hospital in 2018.The study included 26 animals of the canine species with clinical symptoms of diarrhea. The resultsrevealed that out of all 26 dogs sampled (100%), 23 (88%) of the samples were positive for the bacterialculture. Of these 23 samples, 28 isolations were obtained, 18 were pure cultures and 5 were mixed cultures.Of the 28 isolations, 23 (82%) were Escherichia coli, Campylobacter spp. was identified in 3 (11%), and inthe last 2 (7%) Salmonella spp.
