CROTON ROSARIANUS (EUPHORBIACEAE), A NEW SPECIES FROM THE MONTANE RAIN FOREST IN THE STATE OF PUEBLA, MEXICO, IS DESCRIBED AND ILLUSTRATED. IT BELONGS TO CROTON SECT. CASCARILLA ON ACCOUNT OF THE PRESENCE OF GLANDS AT THE PETIOLE APEX, STELLATE INDUMENT, TERMINAL INFLORESCENCES WITHOUT BISEXUAL CYMULES, ENTIRE PISTILLATE SEPALS, AND STYLES ONCE BIFURCATE. CROTON ROSARIANUS IS DISTINGUISHED BY BEING A TREE, AN UNCOMMON CONDITION IN THIS SECTION, WITH LARGE LANCEOLATE LEAVES AND ROTATE PORRECT TRICHOMES.
