Producción de la glicoproteína G del virus de la rabia en la levadura Pichia pastoris, para su uso en medicina veterinaria

The Glycoprotein (G) gene of rabies virus CVS-51 strain was cloned, sequenced and expressed in Pichia pastoris yeast as a secreted protein. The antigenicity of this recombinant protein was preliminarily examined by Western blot. Like native glycoprotein, the recombinant glycoprotein was found reactive when challenged against specific antibodies. The data indicate that the recombinant protein can be expressed and isolated straightforwardly and may be useful as a safe source in the production of diagnostic kits and subunit vaccines to prevent the disease.
