DETERMINATION OF THE TRANSITION INDEX OF INFLUENCY IN THE DEFINITION OF DRY AND HUMID SEASON IN THE AREA OF THE CITY OF KNOWLEDGE YACHAY
The presence and influence of the Andean mountains, prevents the incursion of warm and humid winds from the East and the West to the interior of the Andean region, which leads to a modification in the climate of the region. Ecuador, its characterized by not having stations, instead its place you can appreciate the presence of dry and humid seasons. These depend on the conditions of atmospheric, geographic, orographic, regime climatic, weather events like El Niño, La Niña, among others. The research is original and the information source was provided by the Meteorological Services of Ecuador in four stations on the study area with information between 24 and 39 years and one installed in the City with a period of less than two years. A statistical and graphical analysis was performed, trends and characterization of the curves were studied in stages of analysis, considering adverse events and atypical years. It was determined the average precipitation transition index (IRRmed) and the 24 hour maximum precipitation transition index (IRRmax24H), that mark in some way the change trend of temporality between dry and wet season, which allows to characterize the climate and its evolution considering the past and foreseeable future.
