Creation of a virtual citizen science node in San Martín del Valle, Puebla

One of the central problems in the development of community projects for the management of natural resources is the active participation of the different sectors that make up the community, both to determine and prioritize the socio-environmental problems that affect them; as well as for the definition of strategic routes for its solution. It has been documented that one of the routes to strengthen management and decision-making processes on issues related to biodiversity conservation, natural resource management or environmental policy; is the integration between the citizenry as an active actor and the academic groups of interest for the solution of public problems, through a model called "Citizen Science" that seeks to strengthen scientific research work through co-creation processes. Through the creation of the Virtual Citizen Science Node-Tochenga, it is intended to build a free access space where young people, adults and older adults can meet, given the loss of knowledge transfer between generations, making it an opportunity for different generations to be linked again. In addition, we seek this virtual community to be a space for meeting and dialogue of knowledge in which academic research objectives and the dissemination of data can be harmonized with the interests of the community through co-creation processes.
