Fertigation in a sugarcane agroecosystem (In extenso)

A fertigation system designed in the Postgraduate School Campus Veracruz was evaluated. The aim was to validate this low pressure system with multi-gates pipes using a Venturi-type injector in an agroecosystem with sugarcane. The uniformity with which the orifices of the system emit the nitrogen fertilizer at fertigation was evaluated, as well as the stability of the system. The experiment was carried out on a 1.5 ha plot with sugarcane. Three factors corresponding to the different openings of the valve were tested to see their effects on the homogeneity of the fertigation at the outlet of the pipelines gates and the stability of the system respect to time elapsed. Samples of water-fertilizer mixes were taken at the exit of the pipeline outlet and analyzed in the laboratory with a Visible UV spectrophotometer. It was identified that for some valve openings the system is unstable. For 2/3, there was no significant difference at the time of emptying the container with fertilizer. Therefore, it was concluded that at least valve openings close to 2/3; this system behaves stable. In response to the experiment, it is partially concluded that, by correctly regulating the amount of water-fertilizer that enters the system, a uniform mixture is obtained at the outlet of the orifices of the pipe that pour said fertilizer into the rows of the crop.
