First record of Nantis indefessus (Characidae: Stevardiinae) in the Juramento River basin, Salta, Argentina

Nantis indefessus was described as an endemism of the upper Bermejo River basin, in northwestern Argentina. Additional material revealed that this species also inhabits the upper Juramento River basin, in sympatry with Bryconamericus rubropictus, at more than 2000 m.a.s.l. These two species are externally very similar to each other, which could explain the lack of reports on Nantis for this basin.
