New species and contributions to the distribution and residence of the avifauna of Santiago del Estero, Argentina
This paper makes contributions to the avifauna of the province of Santiago del Estero, taking as a reference the last bird list published in 2021 and the works on newbird records for the province. Records of three new species are presented: Calidris alba (Sanderling), Phacellodomus ruber (Greater thornbird) and Anthus hellmayri ssp.(Hellmayr’s pipit), as well as new information on the distribution and residency of seven species already cited for the province.
