The delta scale, Lecanium deltae (Lizer) (Hom., Coccoidea), in Tucumán
Delta scale (Lecanium deltae Lizer) was discovered for the first time in the Province of Tucuman in 1921. Some years later it became widespread in all citrus grooves [except lemon], and, in some parts, it reached injury levels. The present paper summarizes several observations made between 1956 and 1965. Bio-logical data, characteristics of the injury caused, biotic and abiotic factors of mortality in young and adult scales, and a review of the present situation of this pest, are given.
