First record of homing in the large hairy armadillo Chaetophractus villosus (Xenarthra: Chlamyphoridae)

We registered the first record of homing behavior in Chatophractus villosus. Thirtythree individuals of C. villosus were captured and released at different distances in PenínsulaValdés, Chubut, Argentina. Of the total number of individuals, 30%returned to the point of capture within 12 days. The correlation between distanceand days until recapture was negative and significant. Although further studies arenecessary, is possibly that the capture site was recognized by the large hairy armadilloas a source of food resources.
