As a consequence of the revival of paleomycological studies, an anotated catalogue synthesis of the South American findings of fossil fungi and fungal spores is presented. 24 megafungi taxa belonging to at least 5 families, and the literature of 186 spore species and types is listed. They range from Permian to Recent.
