On the presence of Prosauropod dinosaur in the Quebrada del Barro Formation, austral border of the Marayes ? El Carrizal basin (Upper Triassic fo San Juan Province)?. The main stratigraphic features of the southeastern San Juan province are discussed. The stratigraphic is made of metamorphic rocks, Upper Triassic, Lower Cretaceous and Tertiary continental deposits. In the Upper Triassic Quebrada del Barro Formation, remains of the Prosauropod Riojasaurus incertus are described and figured. They suggest that the Los Colorados Formation of the Ischigualasto basin and the Quebrada del Barro Formation of the Marayes ? El Carrizal basin in southeastern San Juan are synchronous. Some comments on the Lagarcito Formation, Lower Cretaceous of the studied area and of northern San Luis are made.
