MACROALGAS BÉNTICAS MARINAS DE LA LOCALIDAD CARMEN DE URIA, ESTADO VARGAS, VENEZUELA
RESUMEN En este estudio se presentan las macroalgas del litoral rocoso de la localidad Carmen de Uria, Estado Vargas, Venezuela, el cual se efectuó mensualmente durante 1998, en tres ambientes diferentes: acantilados, plataformas rocosas y playas. Se identificó un total de 62 especies distribuidas en: 11 especies de la División Chlorophyta, 12 especies de la División Phaeophyta y 39 especies y 2 formas de la División Rhodophyta, las cuales constituyen las primeras citas para esta región y tres adiciones para el estado (Lithophyllum pustulatum, Acrochaetium microscopicum, Coelothrix irregularis). Se mencionan algunas consideraciones ecológicas.ABSTRACT The macroalgae of the rocky shore at Carmen of Uria, Vargas State, Venezuela, were described in this study. The collection was done monthly during 1998 in three different habitats: cliffs, rocky plataform and beach. A total of 62 species was identified distributed in: 11 species of the Division Chlorophyta, 12 species of the Division Phaeophyta and 39 species and 2 forms of the Division Rhodophyta, which represent the first report for this locality and three additions for Vargas State (Lithophyllum pustulatum, Acrochaetium microscopicum, Coelothrix irregularis). Some ecological comments are mentioned.
