ASPECTOS DE LA BIOLOGÍA REPRODUCTIVA DE ERISMA UNCINATUM WARM., (VOCHYSIACEAE), LA PRIMERA ESPECIE MADERABLE DEL ESTADO BOLÍVAR, VENEZUELA

RESUMEN     Se estudiaron aspectos de la estrategia reproductiva tales como biología floral, polinización y relación polen:óvulo de Erisma uncinatum Warm. (mureíllo), con la finalidad de generar información para el conocimiento, manejo y conservación de esta especie de interés forestal en Venezuela. El estudio se llevó a cabo en la Reserva Forestal Imataca, en los límites de los estados Bolívar y Delta Amacuro, en una porción de bosque intervenido por la explotación maderera. La floración se registró entre noviembre y diciembre. Las inflorescencias son terminales y tirsoides. Las flores son asimétricas y enantiostílicas. Las características morfológicas de las flores y otras como color, olor, antesis diurna y recompensa ofrecida corresponden con un síndrome de polinización por abejas, siendo los principales polinizadores especies de las familias Anthophoridae y Apidae. Los altos valores de la relación polen:óvulo junto a las características morfológicas de las flores, permiten inferir que en esta especie predominan estrategias de fertilización cruzada.ABSTRACT     Aspects of reproductive strategy as floral biology, pollination and pollen:ovule ratios of Erisma uncinatum Warm.(mureíllo) were studied in order to increase the knowledge for the management and conservation of this Venezuelan forestry species. The study was carried out in the Imataca Forestry Reservoir, Delta Amacuro and Bolívar States border, in a secondary forest portion. Flowering ocurrs between November and December. The inflorescences are terminal and tyrse like. The flowers are asimetrics and enantiostylous. This morphologic features and others like color, odor, nectar and diurnal antesis are related with a bee pollination syndrome. The flowers are visited, mainly, by Anthophoridae and Apidae bee species. The high pollen:ovule ratio and floral morphology suggest an outbreeding strategy.
