CATÁLOGO ABREVIADO DE LAS PLANTAS CON FLORES DE LOS PÁRAMOS DE VENEZUELA. PARTE I. DICOTILEDÓNEAS (MAGNOLIOPSIDA)
RESUMEN El presente trabajo es un catálogo actualizado de las dicotiledóneas (Magnoliopsida) de los páramos de Venezuela. Al menos 78 familias, 267 géneros y 917 especies de dicotiledóneas se encuentran presentes en este ecosistema en el país. Las familias más diversas a nivel específico son: Asteraceae con 261 especies, Melastomataceae con 49, Solanaceae con 39, Scrophulariaceae con 34, Rosaceae con 33, Ericaceae con 32, Apiaceae con 29, Rubiaceae con 26 y Clusiaceae con 25. En base a los datos disponibles se encontró que 319 (34,78%) especies son endémicas de Venezuela y, en algunos casos, de la zona adyacente de los Andes colombianos. Del total de especies endémicas, 145 (45,45% del total de las especies) pertenecen a las Asteraceae.ABSTRACT The present work represents an up to date catalogue of the Dicots (Magnoliopsida) present in the Venezuelan páramos. Our results indicate that at least 78 families, 267 genera and 917 species of Dicots are present in this ecosystem in Venezuela. The most diverse families at the species level in the páramos are: Asteraceae with 261, Melastomataceae with 49, Solanaceae with 39, Scrophulariaceae with 34, Rosaceae with 33, Ericaceae with 32, Apiaceae with 29, Rubiaceae with 26 and Clusiaceae with 25 species. We found that 319 (34,78%) species are endemic to Venezuela and, in some cases, to adjacent areas of the Colombian Andes, and of those, 145 (45,45% of total amount of species) belong to the Asteraceae.
