Massive predation of pine toad, Incilius occidentalis (Anura: Bufonidae)
Anurans are subject to large scale predation during congregation at breeding sites by mammalian species. Massive predation of Incilius occidentalis was recorded. Individuals were characterized by lacking viscera and appendages; however, the head and parotid glands remained intact. It is suggested that this event occurred by the predator Procyon lotor.
