Evaluation of the yield in papa criolla (Solanum phurejaJuz. et BUk.),"yema de Huevo" variety, under different densities at Sabana de Bogotá

The yield of native potato (Solanum phureja Juz. et Buk) variety "yema de huevo" was evaluated under different planting densities, using four distances between rows (0,70; 0,80; 0,90 and 1,0 m) and three distances between hills (0,20; 0,25 and 0,30 m), at Marengo Experiment Station, in Mosquera (Cundinamarca, Colombia). Data consisted of the weigth and numbersof first-, second- and third-size tubers/m2, and total weigth and total number of tubers/m2 produced. The different densities evaluated in the experiment did not present significant differences for the number and weigth of firstand second-size tubers. Distances between rows of 0,90; 0,80 and 0,70 increased significantly the total tubers and weigth, but decreased the average size of the tubers, that it to say, it was obtained greater number and weigth of tubers of third size.
