Effect of plant density and tuber-seed size in basic seed production of creole potato «yema de huevo» cultivars (Solanum phureja luz. el Buk.)

The production ofbasic seed is a very important factor, for the seed production chain looking for high quality. The sowing density and the tuber size have not been researched for Solanum phureja Juz. el Buk. The evaluation ofthese factors was conducted at Experimental Center San Jorge - JCA. Randomized Complete Block Design with factorial array (4x3) was used in this assay. It was found that the distance among plants (15; 20; 25 and 30 cm) did not modify the seed production per unit of area. The tuber diameter between 1,27 to 2,00 cm., is the best choose in production of basic seed.
