Control of basal stem rot of Gypsophila paniculata caused by pythiumsp. with three isolates of trichoderma harzianum and with fungicides
The research was done in the farm Flores La Valvanera, located at Chía, Cundinamarca, under commercial conditions. The objetive was to evaluate the antagonistic activity of isolates 13, T17 and T95 of Trichoderma harzianumon the incidence of basal stem rot, caused by Ihe fungus Pylhium sp.on Gypsophila paniculata applied to the substrate during cuttings rooting and to the soil during flower production. Also, treatments with Ihe systemic fungicides metalaxil, propamocarb and fosetil al were applied. Pythiumcontrol was very effective with the isolate T17 of Trichoderma harzianum, with a reduction of disease incidence from 18,5% to 5,0%during rooting of the cuttings and from 12,1% to 1,9%, when this isolate was applied to the soil. Metalaxil was the best fungicide during rooting of the cuttings, with a reduction on disease incidence from 4,5% to 1,9%. The application of isolate T17 of T. harzianum increased significatevely ñowerproduction, with 26,0% increase of flower bunches compared with the untreated control and with 15,6% in relation with the commercial control. Metalaxil produced 11,4% increase in flower bunches compared with untreated control.
