Evaluación de la variabilidad fenotípica de plantas de Stylosanthes guianensis regeneradas a partir de cultivo de tejidos

Phenotypic variability in Stylosanthes guianensis CIAT 2243 was evaluated in plants regenerated from tissue culture. 100 leaf derived clones were regenerated and were taken 10 the field under a randomized block distribution. Out of eleven parameters of evaluation, regenerated clones displayed significant variation in: chromosome number, plant vigor, number of stems, leaf area, growth habit, reaction to antracnose and dry matter content. The other parameters internode length, lateral expansion, seed production and seed size showed no significant variation among clones, The greater variability produced was associated with chromosome number increase.
