Molecular characterization of 43 accesions of Cape gooseberry from six departments of Colombia

The RAM's technique (Random Amplified Microsatellites) was used to assess the genetic diversity of 43 accesions of Cape gooseberry collected in six regions of Colombia (Nariño, Valle del Cauca, Cauca, Caldas, Quindío and Cundinamarca), property of the National University of Colombia at Palmira's campus collection. This analysis was based on the data from 42 polymorphic loci generated with seven primers. The results showed high genetic distance among accessions from Valle del Cauca and low genetic distance among accessions from Nariño, Cauca, Quindío, Caldas and Cundinamarca departments.
