Hymenoptera parasitoids of Ceroplastes floridensis (Comstock) (Hemiptera: Coccidae) on sour guava crops (Psidium araca L.), in Montería- Córdoba, Colombia
Ceroplastes Gray is one of the most important genus within the Coccidae family. In the present preliminary study in guava crops (Psidium araca L.) in the municipality of Montería-Córdoba, Colombia, the behavior of Ceroplastes floridensis (Comstock) was analyzed and its main parasitoid insects were taxonomically identified. The specimens were obtained through captures using entomological nets, suction flasks, and samples of the host insect collected in the field from stems, branches, and leaves. The identification and preservation of individuals was carried out in the Entomology Laboratory of the University of Córdoba. It was identified a Hymenoptera: Formicidae (Azteca sp.) as a dispersal agent associated with nymphs of C. floridensis and as parasitoid insects to the species Metaphycus sp.; Metaphycus marensis; Metaphycus helvolus; Diaphorencyrtus sp.; Copidosoma sp.; Chrysocharis flacilla; Chrysocharis pentheus, Tetrastichus sp., Aprostocetus sp.
