National Action Plan for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Policies in Egypt 2015 - SCP Assessment

The main objectives of this document is to lay out the framework for an Action Plan for sustainable consumption and production in Egypt. The Action Plan builds on recent studies that have been undertaken in this area and which provided a review of the Egyptian Government’s efforts to promote green policies and integrate environmental considerations in some sectors. It explores recent updates relevant to GE and SCP in an effort to monitor the current challenges and opportunities that face emerging priority sectors in Egypt, including energy, waste, water, and agriculture. The preparation of this document will assist in making a better assessment and of existing policy gaps, efficiency in the implementation of programmes and plans, in addition to the identification of priorities, projects, and activities. The process of formulating the National Action Plan will be based on this detailed baseline and assessment study.
