Carbaryl - Environmental Health Criteria 153

Carbaryl is the common name for the carbamic acid derivative 1-naphthyl N-methylcarbamate. The technical grade product is a white crystalline solid, with a low volatility; it is poorly soluble in water, which is stable to light and heat, but easily hydrolysed in alkaline media. The FAO has established a minimum specification of 98% purity, with an impurity limit of 0.05% for ß-naphthyl N-methylcarbamate.
