A Guide to Tailings Dams and Impoundments: Design, Construction, Use and Rehabilitation

The design of sate tailings dams is discussed in detail and the control and ope-rational procedures necessary during the protracted construction of tailings dams are described. Many things can change during the construction period, not least that of having to continue raising the dam above its initial design height due to the continuing success of the operation. Should things begin to go wrong, a Chapter is devoted to remedial works that can he carried out in order in maintain stability.
