This publication provides information to help policymakers in developing and transi- tion countries understand the effects of the presence of sulphur in transportation fuels and the options available to lower sulphur levels to reduce vehicular emissions. The publication provides a general, non-technical overview of the considerations, benefits, and options for the development of policies and actions to reduce the level of sulphur in transportation fuels.
