Energy Profile: Egypt

Egypt has a large population, which was 82.06 million in 2013. In 2015, the total production of electricity was 16,504 ktoe of which 90.7 per cent is from fossil fuels. Final consumption of electricity in the same year was 13,385 ktoe. Consumption by industry was 2.4 per cent (AFREC, 2015).
