Abstract: A many-sided public man, the argentinian Estanislao Severo Zeballos (1854-1923) spent all his life struggling for the progress of his fatherland. One of the multiple outstanding aspects of his activity was his interest in the promotion of the arrival of immigrants to colonize the country. This paper looks for to investigate, within his parliamentarian activity, about the role that Zeballos tried to carry out in the transmission of identity to the foreign immigrant. The fact is that hi thought in him not only by his material contribution, but also because of the importance of including him in the argentine nationality. In order to this, Zeballos defended the policy of providing incentives to the naturalization of the foreigners, such as land, retirement and vote, so as to make attractive the argentine citizenship. The principal and last objective wanted, obtained by the help of naturalization, was the cultural nationalization of the immigrants, so as to avoid the dissolution of the national identity.
