Exuberant and refractory bullous pemphigoid in a HIV patient: a case report
Abstract Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is the most common autoimmune blistering disease and results from autoantibodies against hemidesmosomal proteins of the basement membrane. Occurrence of BP in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) has already been described. We report an exuberant case of BP in a HIV carrier aiming to emphasize the difficulty of treating this entity in this population.
