A methodology for technological appropriation

Abstract This article summarizes the results of a project that integrates scientific and educational research in the engineering field. It originated from a technological appropriation process of Physical Deposition in Vapor Phase (PVD), in which students from the Faculty of Engineering have been involved to reach a level of technological entrepreneurship skills development. For this purpose, a theoretical-methodological strategy based on integrative projects was designed and implemented which seeks to contribute to student qualification in formative research. The conclusions point out the importance of establishing cross-sectional theoretical-practical elective courses in the faculty to direct students towards technological appropriation that allows to create a hotbed of research and choose to write their senior thesis in these areas to contribute to the training of human resources.
