The present study was designed to cover the aspects of integration of information in feeding subsystems for the dry season, and the validation of these subsystems. Based on data obtained in previous experiments, the following prediction equation was developed: Ye= – 0.394 + 8.406X1 + 0.412X2 – 17.417X21 – 0.106X22 + 0.187X1X2 – 0.0045 (X3 – 30), where X1 represents the supplementary crude protein (Kg/100 Kg liveweight/day), X2 the molasses (Kg/100 Kg liveweight/day) and X3 the percentage of X1 substituted by urea. Eighty steer with an initial average weight of 300 kg were used in a feeding trial to test the degree of prediction of Ye. The subsystems included various levels of X1, X2 and X3 as follows: 1) 0.173, 1.31 and 30; 2) 0.171, 1.82 and 59.1; 3) 0.214, 1.28 and 30.4; 4) 0.211, 1.78 and 59.2. The expected and observed daily weight gains were, respectively: 1) 0.939 and 1.023; 2) 0.860 and 1.000; 3) 1.009 and 1.023; 4) 0.941 and 0.988 Kg/head. The differences among these values averaged 7.9% indicating a high profit in the predictions based on the information produced in the process of developing feeding subsystems for the dry season utilizing rice straw.
